Harry J. Lord, 94, died Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Harris Hill Center after a brief period of declining health.
Harry was born in Franklin, NH, December 22, 1929, to Harry J. Lord and Mary Lord (Shepard). He lived in Bow, NH for over 40 years and was known for building stone walls in town. He was a hard worker who worked bridge construction for many years for both E.D. Sweatt and Audley Construction. He also owned and operated his own concrete floor/foundation business during the early 1970s.
Harry enjoyed country music and 1970s pop/rock. He was a bass player and often performed at the Lone Star Ranch in Merrimack, NH in the 1960s. He purchased his first pair of running shoes at the age of 51 and became an avid runner. He could be spotted running through central Bow regularly.
Harry leaves behind two daughters, Deborah Barlow of Bow and Cindy Parenteau (Pete) of Concord; his son, Scott Lord (Kelli) of Broadview Heights, OH; and three grandchildren.
Harry’s daughters would like to thank the staff at Harris Hill Center for keeping Harry comfortable and dealing with his feisty moods for the past five years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making memorial contributions to the local animal rescue/shelter of one’s choice. Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements. To view an online memorial, leave a message of condolence, or for more information please visit https://phaneuf.net/.
