HAZEL BETTY WETHERBEE
LISBON, N.H. Hazel Elizabeth Wetherbee of Lisbon, New Hampshire, passed away on November 4, 2004 in Keene, NH after fighting melanoma skin cancer.
Known as Betty to her family and friends, she was born on July 5, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts, and attended Hyde Park High School in Boston. Following high school graduation, she attended Salem State College in Salem, Mass., where she majored in business.
Betty graduated from Salem State in 1944, and went on to work for Remington Rand in New York City and then in Boston.
After marriage to Warren S. Wetherbee of Lisbon, N.H. on January of 1952, Betty moved to Lisbon with him. Betty and Warren had three children.
Betty will be well remembered in Lisbon for her generous nature and active life in the volunteer community including such organizations as the Daughters of the American Revolution, Littleton Regional Hospital and the Womens Club. One of her favorite activities was serving as chairperson for the Womens Clubs Good Citizen Scholarship, awarded annually to an upstanding citizen at Lisbon High School.
She is survived by three children and five grandchildren.
SERVICES The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 77 South Main Street, Lisbon, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Lisbon, with Rev. Fr. Daniel Sinibaldi as Celebrant.
