Helen C. (Laplante) (Leveille) Turner, 90, formerly of 49 Roseanne Lane, died July 22, 2007 at Hillsboro County Nursing Home. She was born in Manchester on January 2, 1917, the daughter of Ernest and Cordelia (Boisvert) Laplante and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She was a graduate of Holy Angels High School and was a long-time parishioner of Ste. Marie Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and loved to read and write poetry. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Leveille, Sr., who was killed in 1945 while fighting in World War II. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Luther Turner in 1977 and by a daughter, Helen Ayotte in 1984. Family members include two sons, Charles Leveille, Jr. of Manchester and Ronald Turner of Haverhill, MA; two daughters, Carmelle Grugnale of Manchester and Florence Dubuc of Troy; 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 401, Bedford, NH 03301.
