Henry A. Chalifour
Henry Albert Chalifour, 94, of Manchester NH, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2021 with loving family by his side. He was born on September 5th, 1926 to Albert & Beatrice (Blanchard) Chalifour and would go on to marry the love of his life, Doris, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage and 6 children.
A lifelong resident of Manchester, Henry established deep roots and a large and loving family in the Manchester community. He graduated high school in
Manchester and would go on to work as a postal service clerk for the USPS for over 27 years. Henry was always a hardworking and devoted man who worked so that he could provide for his family.
Henry will be remembered as a loyal, hard working and loving man who put his family first in everything that he did. Throughout his life he loved going camping with his family, deep sea fishing in his younger days, watching the Red Sox, tennis and professional wrestling, and the occasional hot dog. He was a devout parishioner of St. Anthony Church, and was devoted to his faith until his final day. Above all else, Henry loved his family immensely, and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. Memories of his countless backyard parties with family and friends will not be soon forgotten.
Henry has now joined his daughter Claudette Girard in heaven. He is survived by his wife Doris Chalifour; son Gerard Chalifour; son Donald Chalifour and his wife Nancy; daughter Lillian Bell and her husband Daniel; son Paul Chalifour and his wife Deann; son Jean Chalifour of Orlando FL; son-in-law Daniel Girard; sister Claire Aguiar; grandchildren Tyler, Lauren, Matthew, Joseph, Derek, Bradley, Gary, Sarah, Ryan, Colleen & Nicole; 7 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Calling hours for Henry will be held on Sunday, February 21 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, February 22 at 9:30 AM at St. Anthony's Parish in Manchester, NH, and he will be laid to rest afterwards at the Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
In Henry's memory, donations can be made to the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
