Henry A. Dallaire, 96, of Manchester, died July 31, 2011 at Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester.
He was born in Manchester on March 30, 1915, the son of Henry J. and Corona (Pinard) Dallaire and had been a lifelong resident of the city.
He had worked for 15 years as a supervisor at RCL Electronics.
Mr. Dallaire served in the US Navy during World War II in both the American and European theatres. He was on the USS Susan B Anthony when it sunk six miles off Normandy Beach. He was a life member of the D.A.V and the VFW Post 8214. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2, League of 1000 Men and the AARP. Over the years he had enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his son, Donald A. Dallaire and his wife Kathy of Chester; one grandson, Charles Dallaire and his wife Casey of Charleston, SC; 2 brothers, Gerard Dallaire of Manchester and Arthur Dallaire of Florida; 2 sisters, Yvonne Major of Hooksett and Rita Armstrong of Suncook and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Jeannette (Carrier) Dallaire who died in 2009.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Friday, August 5th at 2:00PM. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Villa Crest Nursing Home, 1276 Hanover St, Manchester, NH 03104.
