Henry Joseph D'Anjou

Henry J. D'Anjou, 85 of Manchester, formerly of West Stewartstown, passed away on January 12, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, surrounded by his loving family. Henry was born on October 6, 1929 in Paquetteville, Quebec, Canada, son of the late Omer and Alida (Gagne) D'Anjou.

Henry was always a tireless worker, owned and operated D'Anjou's Body Shop for over 31 years in West Stewartstown, NH with his wife Janine. Henry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was a firearms instructor at West Point. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Colebrook, NH for over 50 years and also a member of the VFW American Legion in Canaan, VT. Henry always enjoyed watching any kind of racing. Among many things, he loved cars, snowmobiling, boating, and going fast. Above all he just enjoyed spending time with his family at Lake Wallace and dancing with the love of his life, Janine. Henry truly loved living life.

Beloved husband of Janine T. (Martin) D'Anjou. Loving father of Michael D'Anjou and his wife Sara of Bedford, NH, Marc D'Anjou and his wife Ann of Londonderry, Denyce Hasenauer and her husband Tony of Parker, CO, and Lissa D'Anjou and her partner Robert McLellan of Strafford, NH. Devoted grandfather of Christina and her husband TJ Kieper, Robert, Nicholas, Phillip, Jessica D'Anjou, and Katie, Mariah McCabe. Brother of Rita Lavigne of Coaticook, Quebec, Armande Biron of Bradenton, Florida and the late Wilfred, Ernest, Bert, and Gilles D'Anjou.

SERVICES: Family and friends will honor and remember Henry's life by gathering for calling hours at The Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave. (corner of Bremer St.) Manchester on Friday, Jan. 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan 17th, 10 O'clock, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bedford. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
