HENRY W. PROVOST MANCHESTER – Henry W. Provost, 89, died February10, 2008 at his home, following a brief illness. Mr. Provost was born on November 6, 1918, in Manchester, NH, the son of George and Carolyn (Lavoie) Provost. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Mr. Provost was employed as a manager at Grand Union Champagne Market. Following retirement, he worked for St. Vincent de Paul, in Manchester. He was a communicant of St. Marie Church, in Manchester, and spent a great deal of time volunteering at the church. Family members include; his wife of 64 years, Irene (Marcoux) Provost, of Manchester; 2 sons, Armand P. Provost, of Gardner, ME; Marc D. Provost, of Manchester; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. IN HIS LIFE: He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Alfred Provost, Lafayette Provost and The Reverend Armand Provost, and by 1 sister, Cora Demers. Mr. Provost was devoted to his wife and family. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 12, from 7 – 9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 2 – 4 P.M. and 7 – 9 P.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Avenue, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 A.M. at St. Marie Church, in Manchester. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to St. Vincent De Paul, 177 Wilson Street, Manchester, NH 03103, in memory of Mr. Provost.
