Irene Joan Candeger, 67, of Sandown, NH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Elliot Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 24, 1959, in Revere, MA, and was the daughter of the late John and Joan (Fawcett) Oliver.

Irene found joy in caring for others. She loved knitting and crocheting, often entering her creations in the Deerfield Fair, and enjoyed spending time outdoors on her deck. Irene welcomed everyone with an open heart—she treated her children’s friends like her own kids and was famous for her “mommy lunches,” always making sure no one ever left hungry. Her greatest joy, however, was time spent with her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Grammy”, with Emily affectionately calling her “G”.

Irene is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Ersin Candeger; her children, Erika Rubert and her husband Joe Rubert, Michael Candeger and his wife Rachael Candeger, and Brittany Norton and her husband John Norton; and her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Rubert, Tyler Rubert, Emily Candeger, and Grace Candeger.

She was predeceased by her sister, Karen Belanger, and her brothers, Jack Oliver and Steve Oliver.
