Irene Phyllis Cassidy

Irene Phyllis (Cote) Cassidy, 88, of Manchester, NH, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 11, 2026. Born in Manchester on April 7, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Rose (Roy) Cote. She shared 63 years of marriage with her late husband, Roger Cassidy.

Raised in Manchester, Irene was a graduate of West High School and remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life. In her younger years, she worked as a clerk at Coopers & Lybrand Accounting and Dick Jolicouer’s Superette. She was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed bowling with the Manchester Bowling League at Lakeside Lanes. Irene found joy in cooking, crocheting, sewing, and reading (especially The Pillars of the Earth and the Harry Potter series) and loved listening to Elvis, often while enjoying a good glass of wine. Some of her most cherished moments were spent at the family’s summer home on Northwood Lake. Above all, Irene’s greatest joy was her family. She lovingly raised seven children and was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her children, Diane Healy and husband John of Westford, MA, Deborah Ouellette and her fiancé Ronald Legg Jr. of Goffstown, NH, Daniel Cassidy of Chichester, NH, Darlene Cassidy and husband James Provencher of Bedford, NH, Dina DeTone and husband Peter of Weare NH, son-in-law, Donnie Hill of Katy, TX; her nine grandchildren, John Austin, Joshua, Justin, Ashleigh, Jessica, Devon, Skye, Anthony and Dominic; five great-grandchildren, Cora Rose, Mia, Ellis, Olivia and Brooke; her step-brother, Robert Tremblay of Florida and step-sister Jeanette Barbin of California; and special friends Mary Biron and Jackie Charron.

In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was predeceased by her children, Donna Hill and David Cassidy, her sister, Alice Jolicoeur; her step-sister, Theresa McGuiggan; her special friends, Theresa Isabelle and Marlene McGrath; and her beloved miniature collie, Teddy. Services will be held on Monday, January 19th. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 8AM-9:30AM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester, NH. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10AM at Sacred Heart Church, 265 South Main Street, Manchester, NH. She will be laid to rest with a eulogy at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester, NH.
