Irene C. Mercier

Irene C. (Potvin) Mercier, 87, of 770 Howe Street, died June 9, 2004 at her residence. She was born in Manchester on May 11, 1917, the daughter of Egide and Delia (Lessard) Potvin and had been a lifelong resident of the City. She was educated in local schools and had worked for Salvage Shoe Company for over twenty years. She was the widow of Joseph Mercier who died in 2001. Family members include her son, Richard “Dick” Mercier of Manchester; one grandchild; and several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel with the committal service to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
