Mrs. Irene Y. (Rousseau) Perdue, 88, of Manchester died Sunday November 25, 2007 at the Elliot Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born on May 14, 1919 in Manchester the daughter of Albert and Clara (Noel) Rousseau. She was raised and educated in Manchester. Mrs. Perdue was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked for 45 years at JF McElwain Shoe Company in Manchester. She was instrumental in the creation of the JF McElwain Credit Union and served on the board. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis Perdue who died in 1977. She was predeceased by her siblings, Nestor Rousseau, Edgar Rousseau, Arthur “Chewie” Rousseau, Armand Rousseau, Rene Rousseau, Antonio Rousseau, Roger Rousseau, Donald Rousseau, Gerard Rousseau, Herve Rousseau, Lillian Grenier, Claire Rousseau and Lorraine Proulx. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews including her niece, Pauline Gagne of Bedford, with whom she resided for several years. Her Memorial Gathering will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00PM with her Memorial Service at 3:00PM. Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
