Irene S. Smith

Irene S. (Bisson) Smith, 88, of 568 Pine Street, died December 9, 2000 at Villa Crest Nursing Home. She was born in Manchester on July 28, 1912, the daughter of Edmond and Adele (Ouellette) Bisson. She had been living Sarasota, FL for ten years before moving back to Manchester three years ago. She was a graduate of Central High School and was a long-time parishioner of St. Augustin Church. She worked for man years for Pandora Industries. She enjoyed painting, sewing and crafts. She was the widow of Colin Smith who died in 1975. She was also predeceased by two sons, Robert Smith and Kenneth Smith. Family members include three sons, Colin R. Smith of Schnectady, NY, Bruce E. Smith of Manchester and David T. Smith of Manchester; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM in St. Augustin Church. Urn burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations many be made to VNA Hospice, 1850 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03104. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
