Irene E. Trahan, 82, of Manchester, NH died November 12, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 6, 1931 in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late Henry and Irene (Vanasse) Prive.
Irene and her husband owned and operated diners in the local area, including Irene and Rol's lunch. Irene retired from Velcro USA in 1990.
She enjoyed canning and loved puzzles. Irene was a very loving and giving person. She had a big heart and was a dear friend to many. To Irene, family and friends were the most important part of her life and she enjoyed her time spent with them.
Surviving family members include a son, Roland A. Trahan, Jr. of Antrim; three daughters, Suzanne Adams of Florida, Sandra L. Turgeon of Manchester and Lisa L. Trahan of Manchester; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 6 sisters, Rena Sorel of Bedford, Judy Charrette of Allenstown, Rita Trahan of Ocala, FL, Pauline Caron of Epsom, Claire Lavertu of Ocala, FL and June Eaton of Auburn, 3 brothers, Milton Prive of Manchester, Lucien Prive of Manchester and Robert Prive of Candia and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Roland A. Trahan, Sr. who died in 2009; 4 sisters, Bertha Lafreniere, Rachel Christman, Georgette Tremblay and Violet Lamarine and 5 brothers, Paul, Roland, Raymond, Roger and Peter Prive.
A gathering will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Monday from 10 to 11am with a service at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Committal Prayers will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
