Irene E. Wright

Mrs. Irene E. Wright, 89, of Manchester died March 1, 2008 at the Elliot Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born on August 9, 1918 in North Andover, MA. She was raised and educated in the Andover area. Irene graduated from Johnson High School in Andover. She went to McIntosh Business School in Lawrence, MA. She was a resident of Manchester for the past 68 years. Irene had worked at Johnson Shoe in Manchester, Cinderella Bakery in Manchester and Nugent on Elm St. in Manchester during her life. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing games with her friends. She also enjoyed cake decorating, especially for her grandchildren. Irene was a volunteer at the Elliot Hospital gift shop. Surviving family members include her 3 sons, Arthur R. Wright of Rockville, MD, Edward Wright of Manchester, and Lawrence Wright of Hooksett; daughter, Alyce Wright-Amico of Manchester; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, I. Arthur Wright, son, Stephen Wright and daughter, Harriet Rowell. Her Services are private. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in the spring.
