Jack Edward, 94, of Merrimack, NH died October 23, 2022, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, NH.
Jack was born in Americus, GA on June 18,1928 to Ruby Murphy. Jack graduated from Americus High School. He served 30 years in the United States Army and retired as an Army Colonel. He lived at 396 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT for over 30 years and retired from Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, Aethna Insurance Company, and James Limousine in Connecticut. He was also a lifetime member of the Hartford, CT American Legion.
Jack was the husband of Vivian B. Howard-Edward. They were married on June 21, 1954, and were together for 48 years until Vivian’s passing on August 24, 2002 at the age of 68.
Jack’s family members include his son Derrick D. Edward of Merrimack, NH; daughter Stacie Leimberger of Cape Coral, Florida; two daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; five grandchildren and six great-granddaughters, as well as several close friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Jack was preceded in death by his son, Joe Howard of Manchester, NH, who died November 11, 1996, and his brothers Milton, Miller, and Maurice McDonald.
No formal services will be held at this time. Jack will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA in a few months. Family and friends will be notified of the date and time.
