Jacques Bonsant

Jacques “Jake” Bonsant, 66, of 14 Elm Street, Epsom, and formerly of Manchester, died October 7, 2006 at the Hospice House in Concord after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in Montreal, PQ Canada on May 12, 1940, the son of Eugene and Irene (Galarnau) Bonsant and had lived in Lowell, MA before moving to Manchester 40 years ago. He attended St. Joseph School in Lowell and was a graduate of the NH Voc Tech in Nashua. He had worked at OSRAM Sylvania and also at Felton Brush Company until his retirement. He enjoyed coin collecting and loved to travel, garden and sports.

Family members include his wife of 45 years, Antoinette (Goyette) Bonsant; his mother of Manchester; a son, Norman Bonsant of Ogunquit, ME; two daughters, Lise Bonsant of Ocala, FL and Michelle Dollard of Auburn; two grandchildren; a brother, Pierre Bonsant of Charleston, SC; a sister, Nicole Gagnon of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
