Jacques "Jake" R. Forand, 90, of Goffstown, passed away on May 11, 2018 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home.
He was born in Westfield, VT on September 1, 1927, one of twelve children of Telesphore and Ida (Desgoranges) Forand. He owned and operated Jakes Bike Shop. Established in 1957, Jake's was the epitome of a locally owned family run bike shop with all four of his sons and his daughter working side by side with their dad. Jake's Bike Shop was a gem, tucked away in Manchester's west side for sixty years. It had three locations, but settled in at 414 Kelley St and helped generations of families along the way get into a bicycle or get their bicycle fixed. He loved tinkering in his garage and fixing things. He was a parishioner of the Parish of the Transfiguration and was the widower of Lucille (Boisvert) Forand, who passed away in 2016. He was also predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey in 1978.
Family members include four sons, Andre Forand and his wife Sue of FL, Denis Forand and his wife Jeannine of Manchester, Jean Forand and his wife Sharon of ND, and Real Forand and his wife Leneah of New Boston; a daughter, Lorraine Bergeron and her husband Ken of New Boston; nine grandchildren, Dennis, Stephanie, Patrick, Laurie, Scott, Richard, Joshua, Eric, and Heather; nine great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
