James D. Baxter, 65, of Manchester, NH, died on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, in Lebanon, NH.
Mr. Baxter was born on April 29, 1953, in Manchester, NH the son of David E. and Elizabeth Ann (Mooney) Baxter. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
For 40 years, he was a self-employed sign maker, and was a graduate of Butura School of Art.
Mr. Baxter was a private pilot who had a passion for flying his own airplane. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners Pilots Association, and was a former member of United Commercial Travelers where he held the position of Grand Chaplain. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Members of his family include; his wife of 42 years, Lynn H. (Lord) Baxter, of Manchester, NH; one son, David Baxter and his wife Amanda, daughter-in-law Silvia Sanchez, 5 grandchildren, MiKayla, Dominic, Alondra, Emma and Cameron Baxter, 4 brothers, David, Alan, Gary and Brian Baxter, one sister, Kathy Chouinard, nieces and nephews. Mr. Baxter was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey L. Baxter.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 19, from 4:00 â 7:00 PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Manchester.
It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, in memory of Mr. Baxter.
