James Edward Durwin

James E. Durwin Sr. 71, of Manchester, NH, passed away at home with his loving wife, daughter and son in law by his side on March 6^th, 2022. He was born on July 2^nd, 1950 to the late William F. & Constance M. (Kitchener) Durwin, and would go on to marry his best friend and love of his life, Donna Lavarnway, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage.

James was born in Pittsfield, MA but would move to NH at the age of five, after which he spent the rest of his life in NH where he could be close to his family and friends that meant the world to him. He graduated High School in NH and would go on to work multiple jobs in various industries. He was always a diligent and hard worker who provided for his family, and most notably worked as a truck driver for the Montgomery Wards.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Jim will remember an incredibly loving father and friend to many. He enjoyed the simpler things in life, never seeking the spotlight but always being there for his family when they needed him. He loved watching TV, especially the classics such as the 3 Stooges, Jaws, Rocky & Rambo. He also loved being outside, especially gardening with his wife Donna or walking one of his beloved dogs. More than anything, Jim loved his family immensely, and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Jim has joined his parents and his sisters Cindi, Sara and Rose in heaven. He is survived by his wife Donna Durwin; son James Durwin Jr. and his wife Dana; daughter Jodi Mandy and her husband Robert; sister Connie Card and her husband John; granddaughter Kaylyn and her Fiancé Clay Wilson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Calling hours for Jim will be held on Saturday, March 12^th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM, with a service from 3:00 - 4:00 PM, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH.
