James A. Johnson (55), of Hooksett, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1969 to the late Albert P. and Ellen M. (Crummey) Johnson in Concord NH and was raised in Deerfield, NH. James lived his entire life in the greater Manchester/Concord area, where he built a legacy of hard work and devotion to his family. James was immensely proud of his role as a husband and father, having raised four children alongside his beloved wife, Charity Kincaid, with whom he shared 26 wonderful years of companionship.
James was dedicated and hardworking, having devoted 35 years of his life to the Kalwall Corporation, where his strong work ethic and regimented nature made a lasting impression on his workplace and on the many colleagues and friends around him. Throughout his career, James formed countless friendships and respected relationships, showcasing his genuine spirit and commitment to teamwork.
Those who knew James will remember his rich personality, characterized by his endless well of knowledge. A true human encyclopedia, he delighted in using his thesaurus and dictionary, earning the admiration of many for his extensive vocabulary and insights. His passion extended beyond work; he cherished his hobbies, which included riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycle along the scenic Kancamagus every year and competing fiercely in bowling, where he ruled as the kingpin of the family. James was also an avid fan of all Boston sports teams, eagerly watching games and celebrating their victories with enthusiasm. Above all else, James was a loyal partner, father and friend who devoted his life to providing for the people he loved. He will be dearly missed.
James has joined his father, Albert P. Johnson, and mother, Eileen M. (Crummey) Johnson in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Charity Kincaid, and their children: Nicole Strand, Deanna Oelfke, Devon Johnson, and Addison Johnson. He also leaves behind his siblings: brother Ronnie Johnson, sister Karen Cofferen, and sister Kathy Boudreau. In his passing, James will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
Calling hours for James will be held on Friday, May 23 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH. A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, May 24 at the St. Joseph Church in Northwood, NH followed by a cemetery committal service at the Old Center Cemetery in Deerfield, NH.
Donations in James’ memory can be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
