Kennedy, Jr., James H. 96, died July 4, 2009, in Goffstown, NH. In His Life: He was born November 18, 1912 son of James H. Kennedy, Sr. and Katherine (McGuiness) Kennedy in Central Falls, RI. Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Frances L. Kennedy and daughters Elizabeth L. Cramer (Roy); Susan K. Skaradowski (John); and his brother Raymond. Jim is survived by his son, James H. Kennedy, III (Lyla), Goffstown, NH; daughter Martha (Marty) Kennedy (John), Franktown, CO; 4 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his sisters Mildred Mitchell and Irene Miele (Americo), several nieces and nephews, and his beloved companion, Juanita Joseph, Brooklyn, CT. Jim graduated from LaSalle Academy in Providence in 1931, where he was state champion high jumper. Upon his graduation from Rhode Island State College (U.R.I.) in 1935, he joined the RI Department of Health as a bacteriologist where he worked for 36 years. He studied with Dr. Papanicolaou at Cornell University (discoverer of Pap Smear test). Jim also ran the lab at the state veteran’s home in Bristol, RI as well as his own extensive private lab for many years. Jim lived a long and interesting life and will be truly missed by his children, relatives and friends throughout New England. Jim and Fran retired to Burrillville, RI and later moved to Woodstock, CT where they remained for 20 years until her passing, after which he lived in Brooklyn, CT. Per Jim’s request, there will be cremation and no services. Memorial donations can be made to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, 400 Mast Road, Goffstown, NH 03045.
