JAMES E. MANSEAU
MANCHESTER â James "Jim" E. Manseau, 89, formerly of Derry, NH, left this earth to be with his beloved wife, Claire, in heaven on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Elliot Hospital, in Manchester.
Mr. Manseau was born on April 16, 1923, in Manchester, the son of the late Phillip and Grace (Sandow) Manseau. He grew up in Manchester and attended local schools. Mr. Manseau moved to Derry where he resided for many years.
He attended Central High School in Manchester, and graduated from Hesser College.
Mr. Manseau was a World War II veteran, serving as a corporal in the United States Army as a heavy machine gunner.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 40 years as an accountant for Public Service of New Hampshire.
He was a history buff especially researching the history of Manchester and Derry. He enjoyed dining out and playing cards with family and friends. Also, for 20 years he enjoyed his many vacations to Florida.
Mr. Manseau and his wife, volunteered at the Holy Cross Cemetery, in Londonderry for 25 years.
Members of his family include; his brother, Frederick Manseau and his wife Margerite, of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews, including his niece Karen and her husband, John Delangie, of Manchester who were his care givers for the last six months of his life; very close personal friends; Greg and Mary Ann Moser, of Derry who have been an integral part of his life for the past 25 years; Mr. Manseau was predeceased by his beloved wife Claire (Dion) Manseau, three brothers, Phillip, Robert and Richard Manseau, and by three sisters, Hazel Wells, Ruth Manseau and Lois Davis.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 19, 1:30 PM at St. Peter's Church, 567 Manchester Road, in Auburn. Internment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, in Derry, NH.
The family of Mr. Manseau would like to thank the staff at St. Theresa's Healthcare, Hanover Hill Healthcare, Elliot Hospital and the Manchester VNA Hospice, for their wonderful care that they provided to James.
