James Douglas "Jim" McColgan, 54, passed away at his home on October 10, 2023. Born in Manchester, NH on October 15, 1968, he was the son of the late James and Della (Guernsey) McColgan.
Jimmy was a resident of Manchester throughout his entire life and was a 1986 graduate of Manchester Memorial High School. He had a 24-year career at Sanmina, where colleagues affectionately referred to him as "the candy man" due to his tradition of buying candy on payday and sharing it with his coworkers. His dependability, hard work and generosity left a lasting mark in the workplace. In addition to his professional life, Jimmy was a member of the Davignon and Pericles Clubs. He took immense pride in his Irish heritage, a part of his identity he held dear. Jimmy will forever be remembered for his sharp wit, his intelligence and his distinctive long beard.
Jimmy is survived by his sisters, Ann McColgan and her significant other, Eric Durant, of Manchester, Eileen Salazar and her husband Reynaldo of Georgia, and Tara McColgan of Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Casey and Corey McColgan and Adriana, Leticia, Daniel and Reynaldo Salazar; his great-nephews, Hunter, Sean and Theodore. He is also survived by members of his Chosen Family: his best friend, Lance Linke and his family, including his wife, Amanda Linke, their children, Paige, Aubree, Alex and Hunter Linke and Lucas and Cody Maki, His brother Alexandre, his parents Lance “Pops” Linke and Sofia Bryne as well as other extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at The Shaskeen Pub, 909 Elm Street, Manchester, NH on November 4th 2023 from 12:00 to 4:00
