JAMES A. NEWTON, JR.

DALTON, NH  James A. Newton, Jr., age 72, passed away on Thursday, January 29th at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH.

James was born and raised in Littleton, the son of James A. and Ruth P. (Celley) Newton, Sr. on December 27, 1936.

James was a member of the Beekeeping Association. He enjoyed woodworking, farming on his own farm, gardening, beekeeping, and spending time with his family and friends. James drove the local school bus for many years.

Surviving family members include his wife of 53 years, Leona (Vance) Newton of Dalton, NH; two sons, James A. Newton, III and wife, Deb of Whitefield, NH, and Lawrence and wife, Deb Newton of Dalton, NH; one daughter, Brenda and husband, Kenneth Yeargle of Littleton, NH; six grandchildren, one great-grandson; five brothers and sisters, Jeanette and Kenneth Bisson of Littleton, NH, Betsy Mardin of Lisbon, NH, Edna Walker of Littleton, NH, Von and Rita Newton of Littleton, NH, and Willard and Edna Newton of Monroe, NH; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one son.

SERVICES  The family will receive friends on Sunday, February, 1st from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Whitefield Ambulance or the Littleton Methodist Church.
