James Santos

James Santos, 91, of Merrimack, NH and formerly of Goffstown, passed away on April 5, 2025 at the Community Hospice House. Born in Manchester on October 7, 1933, he was a son of the late Jose and Clutilde (Pereira) Santos. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine (Foster) Santos, in 2017.

James was a lifelong resident of Southern New Hampshire. He worked for Nycoa (formerly Foster Grant) in manufacturing and packaging for over 30 years, He enjoyed watching sports – especially hockey, baseball and football. James found great comfort in his Catholic faith and enjoyed attending Mass at various churches in the area with his brother. He loved dogs and always had a canine companion throughout his life. James loved being out in nature, from hunting in his younger years to taking scenic drives to the White Mountains and by the beach later in life. He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family, especially during family dinners and holidays.

James is survived by his children, Debra Bergeron of Merrimack, James T. Santos of Manchester, Linda Saylor and her husband Al of Merrimack, and Pamela McPartlan and her husband James of Litchfield; his sister, Dolly Stewart and her husband Robert of Manchester; his grandchildren, Cynthia Miller and her husband Forrest of Louisiana and Kevin Clement of Hooksett; his great-granddaughter, Reyna Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, James was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Santos, Mary Schmidt, Anthony Santos, Americo Santos and George Santos.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9th from 4PM-6PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Thursday, April 10th at 10AM. Burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
