James M. Silva
James M. Silva, 82, of Littleton, NH passed away on September 25, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Manchester, NH surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Providence, RI on December 13, 1927, the son of the late Jose and Julia (Enos) Silva and had been a 45 year resident of Littleton. He was of the catholic faith and a devoted husband and father. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He owned and operated Corey’s Market in Littleton for many years. He was a skilled finish carpenter and cabinetmaker. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Corey) Silva in March 2010.
Family members include four daughters, Cheryl Lafond of Manchester, Charlene Silva Ferland and her husband Todd of Littleton, Cynthia M. Rooney and her husband James of Concord, and Cathy M.R. Bernard and her husband Alain of Derry; a son, Jamie M. Silva and his wife Michelle of Denver, NC; thirteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter; two sisters, Laura Cabral and Irene Medeiros both of RI; and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services will be private. Burial with military honors will take place at the convenience of the family in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Unit #110, Bedford, NH 03110 or Manchester VA Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Boscawen, is in charge of arrangements.
