James A. Yankee, 81, of Manchester, died June 6, 2002 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Manchester as James A. Yianakoplos, the son of Andrew J. and Stella (Papamichelau) Yianakopolos and had been a lifelong resident of the Manchester and Goffstown communities. He and his wife wintered in Ft. Myers, Florida for fifteen years. He owned numerous businesses throughout his career. He was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran and was a member of the American Legion Sweeney Post and Jutras Post where he was past commander. He was a member of the Derryfield Country Club and was an avid golfer. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church. Family members include his wife of 58 years, Doris (Racette) Yankee, a son, James R. Yankee of Chichester; two daughters, Mrs. James (JoAnn) Gallagher of Merrimack and Mrs. James (Donna) Laliberte of Bedford; two granddaughters, Traci Scott of NC and Kristi Lowell of Merrimack; two grandsons, Christopher James Laliberte and Brian James Laliberte, both of Manchester; five great grandchildren; four brothers, Andrew Yianakoplos of Hooksett, Robert Yianakopolos, Paul Yianakopolos and Daniel Yianakopolos all of Goffstown; three sisters, Anastasia Benoit of CA, Mrs. Roland (Patricia) Glaude of Goffstown and Mrs. Guy (Lillian) Bledsoe of FL; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 10:00 in St. Patrick Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
