Janice Marie Meade (Cunningham), 89, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 2, 1936, in Lowell, MA, the daughter of James F. and Mildred Cunningham (Seymour).

Janice graduated from Lowell High School, and moved to Nashua in 1972. Before starting a family, she worked for Boston and Maine Railroad. She retired in 1997 from Energy North where she was a customer service representative. In her free time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Nashua Senior Center and the RSVP. 

She was a parishioner of Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Nashua, NH, and then was currently a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua, NH. She enjoyed spending time with her friend, Susan F., and her puzzle room friends. Her hobbies included playing bingo and going out to eat with her friends, especially Pat, watching the Boston Red Sox and Bruins games, going to the theater, but most of all, she loved to spoil her grandchildren and watch them grow. She was always there to support them and loved them so dearly.

Janice is predeceased by her son, Kevin Meade; brother, Nolan Cunningham, and his wife, Patricia Elaine Cunningham. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne M. Hewitt and her husband, Wayne; grandchildren Matthew Hewitt, Cole Hewitt and his partner Ashlyn; her great grandchildren Aurora +1; and nieces and nephews.

Assisting the family with Arrangements is Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Nashua. There will be a Visitation from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH. There will be a Funeral Mass the next day on Thursday, February 26, 2026, starting at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 E Dunstable Road, Nashua, NH. Immediately following the Mass, burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 1251 Gorham Street, Lowell, MA. All are welcome to attend.
