Janice E. (Tanck) Tsoupas, 53, of 39 Eastgate Way, died October 16, 2003 at the Elliot Hospital. She was born in Boston, MA on November 18, 1949, the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Fleming) Tanck and had been a Manchester resident for over 35 years. She was a graduate of Brookline High School, Class of 1967 and attended Northeastern University where she majored in education. She had been employed by Filenes Department Store for the past three years. She was an active member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a Sunday School teacher at the church. She was a board member of the Anagennesis Society and belonged to the Daughters of Penelope. She recently was the recipient of the Penelope of the Year Award. Family members include her father of West Roxbury, MA; her husband of 31 years, James Tsoupas; a son, James Tsoupas II of Manchester; a daughter, Nicole Wu of Bedford; two twin grandsons; a brother, Glen Tanck of Medway, MA; three sisters, Valerie Tumolo and Cheryl Celentano, both of Manchester and Darlene Tanck of Foxboro, MA; and several nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Trisageon service will take place in the funeral home at 7:30 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
