Janis T. Galeucia

Janis T. Galeucia, 77, of Bedford NH, passed away on July 2nd, 2021 after a long illness. She was born on March 27, 1944 to the late Calvin & Anne (Bishop) Tidwell, and would go on to marry her best friend and husband of 54 years Richard "Dick" Galeucia.

Janis was born in Texas and, the daughter of a military father, found herself moving frequently, but largely grew up in the greater Houston area. She and Dick met while he was in the military and would later move to Massachusetts and New Hampshire where they raised their two boys David & Scott. When she was not raising her boys, Janis enjoyed her time as a teacher in Texas and later as a travel agent in New Hampshire.

Those who knew Janis will remember a kind, generous and caring woman who loved her family and friends immensely. Of her many loves in life, she most of all enjoyed being with those she loved, whether at her lake house in Wolfboro, in Hilton Head SC, or simply at her home in Bedford. Janis was happiest when surrounded by her people. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Janis is predeceased by her brother Mac Tidwell and her sister Peggy McGaughy. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Richard Galeucia; son David Galeucia and his wife Anne; son Scott Galeucia; grandson Joseph Holden and his wife Jenna; 2 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Calling hours for Janis will be held on Friday, July 9th from 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM, with a service beginning at 11:15 AM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover st. Manchester NH. She will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at the Bedford Center Cemetery.
