Jean Marie Comtois, 89, formerly 459 Dubuque Street, Manchester, NH, died May 1, 2010, in Mount Carmel Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was born in Berlin, NH, on July 19, 1920, the son of the late Joseph Aime and Victoria (Verville)Comtois and had been a resident of Manchester for most his life. He graduated in 1943 from Joliette College in South Western Quebec. Mr. Comtois worked many years for Cote Brothers and retired from St. Anselm's College as an upholsterer after eight years of service. He belonged to St. Vincent-de-Paul Society; he was a member of Joseph of Ste. Marie Parish, a member of the League of the Sacred Heart; the League of 1000 Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood; and Community of Living Waters Charismatic Prayer Group of Ste. Marie Parish. Jean volunteered his time with the Manchester V.A. Medical Center. Jean was loved by the staff at the Nursing Home, and was nicknamed "Trouble". He will be remembered for his great smile and giving heart. Family members include his wife of 59 1/2 years; Annette (Desaulniers) Comtois of Manchester; three sons; Donald Comtois of Goffstown, Rene Comtois of Manchester and Henry Comtois of St. Albans, Vermont a daughter; Colette Comtois of Goffstown, three grandchildren; Jenny Comtois of St. Johnsbury, Vermont; Alex Comtois and Kelly Comtois, both of St. Albans, Vermont, a sister; Margaret Gertrude Fini of Nashua, NH; several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Relatives and friends may call at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester, on Wednesday evening from 5 to 9. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 O'Clock in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
