JEAN B. EDNEY
NORTH HAVERHILL, NH --Jean B. Edney, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 8, 2015 at Grafton County Nursing Home.
She was born Jennie B. Lomash on May 11, 1926 in Windsor, VT to the late John and Mary (Wordak) Lomash who emigrated from Poland to America. She attended public school in Windsor and began her work life as a nurses aid in the U.S. during World War II. Later she worked at Connors & Hoffman Footwear and Henschel's Shoe. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a nurses aid at Rita Cascadden's nursing home in Littleton.
Jean was an avid reader (especially Harlequin romance novels) and also enjoyed flower gardening, baking, crocheting and anything the color purple. She also loved family parties, long car rides, and stopping to dip her toes in at Dodge Pond.
She was predeceased by her husband, Merton Edney Jr., her parents, and her sister, Olga Woodruff of Windsor, VT. She is survived by 10 children from her first marriage to the late Arkade Dusik of Lyman: Mary Shevchenko of Marlborough, CT; Donna Smith of Littleton; Arkade Dusik, Jr. of Puyallup, WA; Frederick Dusik of Lyman; Pauline Patten of Lisbon; Timothy Dusik of Littleton; Steven Dusik of Bristol; Suzanne Merrill of Littleton; John Dusik of S. Windsor, CT and Victoria Champagne of Granby, CT. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
SERVICES -- Calling hours will be at held at Pillsbury Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, located at 101 Union Street in Littleton, NH on Wednesday, August 12th from 5 to 7 PM. Graveside services and burial will follow on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Kinsman Cemetery in Easton, with Rev. Lyn Winter officiating.
