Jean-Guy Andre Mercier

Jean-Guy Andre Mercier, 68, of Manchester, NH, died on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 due to cancer at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born on June 8, 1953 in Audet, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Germaine and Fernand Mercier. He was the husband of Madeleine (Guimond) Mercier. They were married on January 1, 1979 in Manchester, NH.

Jean-Guy moved to Manchester from Canada with his family in 1970, and he started working at Wallboard Supply Company. He met his future wife in 1974, and they started building their life together. He retired from Wallboard Supply as a truck driver after 35 years in 2003 due to a PLS diagnosis. He loved his work and driving his truck very much. It always brought a smile to his face.

He was a member of The Rimmon Club in Manchester for many years where he would grab drinks with his friends after a hard days work. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and just having an overall good time. He was known as a jokester, always making people laugh, and his smile was contagious.

He is survived by his spouse, Madeleine; his daughters, Tracy Paquette and her husband Jeff, and Stephanie Philbrook and her husband Andrew; his grandhchildren, Cody and his wife Brandi, Hannah, Christian, and Noah; and his great-grandchildren, Delysia, Mary and Sean. His siblings include Gaston (Suzanne), Maurice (Suzanne), Lizette (Clermont), Real, Jeannine (Jeanne), and Laurien (Solonge), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18th from 3-6pm with a funeral service at 6pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester. Family and friends are invited to attend. A private burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
