Jean Helie

Jean Helie, 88, of Goffstown NH, joined his beloved wife of 66 years, Lorraine Helie, in heaven on January 27, 2021. He was born on April 25th, 1932 to the late Arthur & Claudina (Lacombe) Helie in Manchester, NH.

Jean was born and raised in Manchester where he attended school and proudly worked as a tractor trailer driver for Nissan Bakery for many years until his retirement. In 1950 he served in the US Navy out of Boston for 4 years, a service he was proud of his entire life.

Jean will be remembered as a kind, caring and loyal husband, father and grandfather who would do anything to help the people he loved. Those who knew him will remember him always fixing or working on something, whether it be his prized Austin-Healey, his many woodcrafts, his model planes or his vegetable garden, Jean was always keeping busy. There was almost nothing that Jean couldn't fix, and there was never a person he would turn down if they needed help fixing something. Above all else, Jean's family was everything to him, and he is undoubtedly happy to be back with his beloved Lorraine in heaven.

Jean was predeceased by his wife Lorraine J. Helie; son Jean P. Helie; grandson Michael J. Craig; and great grandson Wyatt Moore. He is survived by his daughter Collette Craig with her partner Tom Nilsson; daughter Marcelle St. Pierre and her husband Claude; daughter-in-law Judy Helie; Grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, Jessica, Beth, Jillian, Jenna, Matthew and Lauren; As well as many great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A private service for immediate family will be held in the coming days, after which Jean will be laid to rest alongside Lorraine at the NH State Veterans Cemetery.
