Manchester â Jean E. Lemieux, 84, died Sunday September 21, 2014 after a long illness.
She was born on July 28, 1930 in Claremont, NH the daughter of the late Ernest and Ora (Sylvester) Howard. Jean graduated from high School in Newport, NH where she excelled in athletics, lettering in field hockey. She lived in Newport, moving to Bradford and finally moving to Manchester in 1964.
Jean was an avid baseball lover enjoying going to Henry Jr's games and becoming an avid Red Sox fan till the end. She also enjoyed dancing, bowling, knitting and bingo.
Jean was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving family members include her son, Henry Lemieux, Jr. and his wife Kathy Jenkins of Deering; 3 daughters, Bonnie McDonald and her husband Jay of Palos Verdes Estates, CA, Rebecca Heath of Manchester and Michelle Evans of Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Ian McDonald, Matt McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Thomas Evans and Emily Evans; great grandchild, Christopher McDonald; sister, June Hazen of Hillsborough, her many longtime girlfriends and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Henry Lemieux, Sr., her daughter, Connie Heath, her brothers, Robert and Richard Howard and her sister Joan Slomcinsky.
Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester on Thursday from 3-6PM. Her Celebration of Life Service will follow in the funeral home at 6PM. Interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Jean's memory can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 399 Silver Street, Manchester, NH 03103.
