Jean Paul "Johnny" Bourque, 90, of Goffstown, NH died April 21, 2012 at Bel Air Nursing Home in Goffstown.
He was born on May 26, 1921 in Manchester the son of John and Marie (Bellefeuille) Bourque.
The second of ten children.
During WWII he proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Firedrake.
Mr. Bourque was a teacher for 38 years, teaching 18 years in Manchester then 20 years in Methuen, MA.
Paul also enjoyed working on weekends as a barber in a barber shop on Kelley Street.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the most loving, kind and patient man to ever walk this earth. He will be deeply missed by everyone who was blessed by knowing him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Betty (LaRochelle) Bourque of Goffstown; son Michael Bourque and his wife Jo-Anne of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters, Pauline (Bourque) Williams Dodge and her husband William Dodge of Manchester and Julie(Bourque) Helie Haechton and her husband Bill Haechton of Elloree, SC, 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, two sisters, Therese Tremblay of Dover, NH and Cecile Juneau of Manchester. Also very special Brothers and Sisters-in- law and several nieces, nephews.
He was predeceased by his six brothers, Charles, George, Fernand, Emile, William, and Rev. Edmond Bourque and one sister, Violet LaVallee.
Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00PM. Complimentary valet parking will be available during the calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church, Main St, Goffstown on Wednesday at 10:00AM. Committal prayers will follow in the mausoleum chapel at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
