Bedford â Jean E. Poleatewich, 80, died August 9, 2014 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. She had been a resident at St. Teresa's Health Care Center, Manchester and prior to that lived in Bedford with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was born on September 3, 1933 in Somerville, MA the daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Wilson) Barrett. She was raised in Malden, MA and East Boston, and raised her family in Medford, MA.
Jean worked as a supervisor for John Hancock Insurance in Boston for years. She also worked at Cornu Macomber Management in Boston and later at Garlin Neumann Leathers in Hudson, NH.
Jean was an avid jigsaw puzzle enthusiast. She had been a seasonal camper for many years and enjoyed bowling. She and her husband spent many vacations in the Caribbean islands, especially Antigua. Most importantly she loved her grandchildren. They were a very important part of her life as she was to theirs.
Surviving family members include her two daughters, Cheryl Ann Hannaford and her husband Joseph and Karen Mastrorilli and her husband Frank; 2 granddaughters, Sarah Jean Hannaford and Stephanie Rose Mastrorilli.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederic J. Poleatewich who died February 28, 2002.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 247 South Main Street, Manchester, NH on Wednesday 10AM. Donations in Jean's memory can be made to St. Teresa's Rehab/Activities Dept., 519 Bridge St. Manchester, NH 03104. Please make the check payable to St. Teresa rehab/activities fund.
