Dr. Jean Robert Masuku, 56, of Manchester, passed away at the Elliot Hospital on February 23, 2011.
He was born in the Congo on October 9, 1954, the son of Laurent Masuku and Bernadette Nzumba. He attended medical school and was a medical doctor for many years before he and his family moved from the Democratic Republic Congo to New Hampshire in 2001.
Family members include his wife of 17 years, Victorine Munzimi; 5 sons, Christian Munzimi, Romeo Masuku, Sullivan Masuku, Jean Theo Masuku all of Manchester, and Marco Masuku of Congo; three daughters, Gladys Masuku, Andrea Masuku and Noemie Masuku all of Manchester; one grandson; two brothers, Arthur Masuku and Christian Masuku, both of the Congo; three sisters, Therese Masuku, Jeane Masuku and Ede Masuku, all of Congo; and many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Calling hours are at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Friday from 5 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 in St. Joseph Cathedral. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
