Jean (Whalen) Urquhart, 86, of Manchester died on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH surrounded by family.
She was born on May 19, 1931, in Waltham, MA to the late Francis and Yvonne (Breton) Whalen. She graduated from Waltham High School in 1949, and spent her early years in Waltham before moving to Hooksett, NH. Jean worked for New England Telephone Company before getting married. She lived in Hooksett for 30 years before moving to Conway, NH, where she was active in the North Conway River Church. She attended NH College for her Associate's degree to work with the disabled. Jean worked at E.T.I. and Pathways for many years with the disabled in Manchester, NH. She was married to her loving husband Lloyd W. Urquhart for 55 years.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother leaving five children; Michael Urquhart, of Manchester, NH; Douglas Urquhart and his wife Anna May of Hooksett, NH; Steven Urquhart and his wife Mona of Nashua, NH; two daughters, Kathleen Urquhart, of Manchester, NH; Francine (Urquhart) Swafford and her husband Melvin of Manchester, NH; seven grandchildren; Aaron, Adam, Sarah, Molly, Emma, Steven and Katy, and three great grandchildren, Kenzi, Nolan, and Annabelle. She also leaves two sisters, Patricia (Whalen) Boyle and her husband John of Hingham, MA and Gail (Whalen) McCuan of Marion, IL. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd W. Urquhart, brother Francis Whalen, daughter Debra Urquhart, and two grandsons Jason and Jeremy Urquhart.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church, 45 Myles Drive, in Auburn from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the church. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to the Leukemia Foundation
or to the American Heart Association in memory of Jean Urquhart. The Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is assisting the family with arrangements. To
