Jean P. Wedick, 77, of Bethlehem, NH, passed away at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on August 7, 2010. Jean was born the daughter of Lawrence and Ellen (Reed) Presby on August 30, 1932 in Woodsville, NH. She grew up in Littleton, NH where she met and married John L. Wedick, Jr. of Bethlehem, on Sept 9, 1956. In 1962, John and Jean moved to the Washington, DC area where they lived for 25 years, after living a short time in Richmond, VA and Pittsburgh, PA. In 1990, they retired to their native New Hampshire and lived in Bethlehem for the past 20 years.
Jean enjoyed travelling and accompanied John on business trips to England, France, Spain, Germany and Norway. She loved flowers, ballet, classical music and especially the opera singer, Andrea Bocelli. Jean was an excellent cook and an accomplished artisan with her most prized craft being personalized wooden Christmas ornaments.
She learned to knit from her grandmother, and won blue ribbons for her talent. She donated significant amounts of her time knitting baby clothes and "ouch" dolls for the RSVP program and also did volunteer work for Child Care and Family Services. At the time of her death, she was a member and officer of the Board of Trustees of Bethlehem Public Library.
Jean is survived by John, her husband of almost 54 years, her brother and sister-in-law Larry and Rosemarie Presby, her son and daughter-in-law Jay and Michele Wedick, her daughter and son-in-law Jennifer (Wedick) and Vincent Penoso, brother-in-law David Goldstein and his wife Linda, her aunts Iva Reed and Jean Reed Paige, two nieces Cheryl (Presby) Birkmier and Laurie (Presby) Mitan and her nephew Kevin Presby and her four cherished grandchildren, Araceli Penoso, Lauren, Ashley and Tyler Wedick.
A memorial service will be held at the Durrell United Methodist Church, located on Main St., Bethlehem, on Saturday August 28, 2010 at 11am, Pastor Kelly Harvell officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Maplewood Country Club, also on Main St., from 12:30pm - 3:30pm.
A private committal service will be held by the family.

