Jeanette LaCroix, 94, of Littleton, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. Jeanette was born on March 24, 1931 in Lyndonville, Vermont (the youngest of eight children) to Adolphe and Roseanna (Morin) Guyer of Lyndonville, Vermont.
Spending her early years growing up in Lyndonville, Jeanette (Mom, Ma, Mamazoo, Memere) became increasingly “worldly” after she married her beloved husband of 67 years, Joseph (Ferdinand, Joe, Pop, Dad, Pepere) LaCroix. Pop’s successful 24-year career in the U.S. Air Force and their many adventures, brought them to Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, Ohio, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Germany, Japan, and Turkey. Also during this time, their 5 children (Ricky, Stevie, Jimmy, Vicki, and Johnny) were born. Mom and Dad’s unceasing love, devotion, commitment to each other and their family, and a “gypsy” lifestyle, were the key ingredients for a beautiful, storybook life together.
Lifelong experiences nurtured a love for music and dancing, multiple sports, celebrating family and friends, and supporting each other’s wide variety of interests. Family camping trips, cross-country vacations, and visits with family and friends provided a genuine appreciation for the love, laughter, and treasured relationships that resulted. Family gatherings often featured Memere’s special spaghetti with the secret ingredient (kielbasa!) and countless Tourtiere (French meat) pies. Fervent sports fans, Mom and Pop were always on the sidelines or in the stands, cheering their kids and fellow teammates. They developed a reputation as staunch supporters for local sports long after their own children were grown and moved away.
As a mother of five children, Ma had a “gift”—being able to calmly discuss most any topic, proving invaluable as a trusted confidante. Memere was fondly described by all who knew her as warm and welcoming, sweet and loving, kind and nurturing. Mamazoo knew how to enjoy life’s treasures, always positive, and undeniably the “Happy Head” she was affectionately called by her family. Everyone who was fortunate enough to be a part of her life remember the twinkle in her eyes and how she embraced such a wonderful life!
Jeanette is survived by her son Rick and wife Jody LaCroix, son Steve and wife Karen Eddy, son Jim LaCroix, daughter Vicki and husband Eric Brigham, son John and wife Maureen Trujillo, 12 adoring grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
A special thank you to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for continuing to nourish Mom’s spiritual faith, Riverglen House for providing safe residence and special friendships, staff members at Ammonoosuc Community Health Services and Littleton Regional Hospital for their professional and passionate care, and Phaneuf Funeral Homes for final arrangements. Our family will be forever grateful for your place in Mom’s life!
A memorial service and celebration of life are being planned for Spring 2026.
