Jeanne R. (Bourque) Gourde, 89, of Manchester, passed away on October 19, 2010 at Catholic Medical Center.
She was born in Manchester on July 29, 1921, the daughter of Wenceslas and Lydia (Perreault) Bourque and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She had worked for many years at J.F. McElwain. Prior to that she had been employed by Notre Dame Hospital as a nurseâs aid in pediatrics. She retired early to care for her Aunt Florida and Mother Lydia who both resided with her for many years. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the widow of Conrad Gourde who died in 1992.
In Her Life: Family members include her son Conrad Gourde of Manchester and wife Jeanne; a daughter Constance Lafond of Manchester and husband Lucien with whom she resided; grandchildren Joanne, Michael, Sharon and Mark; great grandchildren Alyssa, Emily, Riley, Courtney and Alexandra; and nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Roland Bourque of California.
Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 in St. Augustin Church. Committal services and interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
