Jeannette A. (Remillard) Brassard, 86, of Bedford passed peacefully on August 12 with her loving family by her side.
'Jan' was born in Berlin on December 11, 1931, the daughter of Paul and Adeline (Arsenault) Remillard. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend by those to whom she meant so much. Jeannette was married to Leon in their hometown of Berlin, NH and was his beloved wife of 67 years. 'Mom' was the heart, the graceful, emotional center of our extended family. She was the model of motherhood to her children and their spouses, serving up decades of great food, sage advice, emotional support, spiritual guidance, and a calming, overflowing abundance of love. Likewise, 'Nana' was the grandmother of all grandmothers. She was the first to soothe the new moms, to show them the ropes of childcare, and guide them through both the simple and the complex issues. Inevitably she became the shining beacon, the warm, tender soulmate, and the moral compass for the youngest members of her clan. Nana will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
Family members include her husband, Leon Brassard; two daughters, Diane Cullen of Kennebunkport, ME, and Laurie Lamp and her husband James of Bedford, NH; two sons, Richard Brassard and his wife Susan of Hollis, NH, and David Brassard and his wife Sarah of Amherst, NH; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Deschenes and Arlene Coulombe of Berlin, NH, and Lorraine Gagne of Dummer, NH. She was predeceased by a son, Marc and by a brother, Robert.
