Jeffrey Scott Sweeney, passed away on May 29, 2026, at Brigham and Women's Hospital following complications from a routine back surgery. Surrounded by the love of his children, who held his hand in his final moments.

Early Life and Family

Jeffrey was the beloved son of Margaret (Peg) and Michael Sweeney. He is survived by his children, Brooke Benton-Sweeney, Keygan Sweeney and his wife Tommi, Rylee Sweeney, and Parker Sweeney. His grandchildren, Brinley and Blakely Desilets. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Sweeney and his wife, Holly, his sister, Julie Nudd and her husband, Dan along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Military Service

Jeffrey proudly served his country by enlisting in the Army National Guard in July 2008, honorably discharged in August 2015. His service was a vital part of his life and identity.

Organizations and Memberships

Jeffrey was active in several organizations. He was a member of the Concord Fire Explorers from 1994 to 1996, joined the Andover Fire Department in December 2000, and served until his deployment in October 2011. He was also a member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Chapter 5-2. In 2022, he was a founding Charter Member and Vice President of the Pipe Hitters Union Motorcycle Club, Minutemen Chapter. Additionally, Jeffrey was a member of American Legion Post 21 in Concord, NH, which he joined in 2022.

Hobbies and Interest

He loved riding his motorcycle through Franconia Notch, taking his children to the zoo, fishing, and watching movies-his favorites being step brothers and Top Gun, which he often quoted. His love for dogs was boundless; he seemed to always have many loyal companions by his side. Recently, he embarked on a new adventure in beekeeping, excited to explore this hobby.

Personality

Known for his infectious sense of humor and larger-than-life personality, Jeff could find a joke in almost any situation. His kindness, wit, and occasionally grumpy demeanor made him uniquely lovable. His laughter was contagious, filling the room with joy and leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. A dedicated father, Jeff, was unwavering in his support for his children. Whether cheering at a game, encouraging a new interest, or simply being there, his love and guidance were constants in their lives.

Jeffrey Scott Sweeney's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His joyful spirit, generous heart, and unwavering loyalty will be dearly missed but forever celebrated. Graveside services will be held on June 23rd, 10 a.m. at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. A reception will follow at the Elks in Franklin, 125 S. Main St., Franklin, NH 03235 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
