JESSIE ROBINSON HODGE
LANDAFF, NH --- Jessie Robinson Hodge, 88, of Gale Chandler Road, passed away September 12, 2003 at the Littleton Regional Hospital after a short illness.
She was born on October 16, 1914 in Norwich, VT, a daughter to David and Jeanie Thorburn Croall. She lived and attended schools in Norwich, VT and Etna, NH and graduated from Hanover High School in 1932. After high school, she worked in the Admitting Office at Mary Hitchcock Hospital. During her younger years, she was active in school activities, church, Sunday School and helped with many fund raising project and performed Volunteer Red Cross work during World War II. She was a member of the Rebeccas and became Past Noble Grand. She did arts and crafts for the NH League of Arts and Crafts and worked with sterling silver, pewter, and copper.
Jessie married Orin A. Robinson in 1945 and moved to Landaff in 1950. Shortly after moving to Landaff, she became a member of the United Methodist Women of the Landaff Methodist Church. She joined Mount Hope Grange #77 in 1953 and held numerous offices including Master, Secretary, and Lecturer. Jessie was a member of the Landaff District School Board for over twenty years, was Town Auditor and Overseer of the Welfare for the Town of Landaff. She was a member of the Lisbon Friends in Council and was active on numerous committees.
Jessie worked at the Lisbon Savings Bank and Trust Company and saw many changes in the banking industry during the twenty-two years she was employed before retiring in 1979.
Surviving family includes two daughters; Jeanie and Jim McLaughlin of Lincoln, NH and Judith and Allan Boulet of North Woodstock, NH; two grandchildren, Ann Boulet Sullivan of South Portland, ME and Allan Tad Boulet Jr. of South Portland ME; two great grandsons, Patrick and Sean Sullivan of South Portland, ME; a sister Davina Dana of Etna, NH; a brother, Dean Croall of Etna, NH and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jessie was pre-deceased by her husband of seventeen years, Orin A. Robinson in 1962, and her husband of fifteen years, Harry H. Hodge in 2001, one sister and two brothers.
SERVICES; Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 17th at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 77 South Main Street, Lisbon, NH from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Landaff Methodist Church in Landaff, NH. Burial will follow at the Landaff Center Cemetery.
