JOAN M. COLLINS
FALMOUTH, ME -- Joan M. Collins, 77, of Falmouth, Maine died on Saturday, February 14, 2004 in Portland, Maine following a brief illness.
Mrs. Collins was born Joan Mawer Thompson in Philadelphia, PA on June 11, 1926, a daughter to Albert R. and Beatrice (Mawer) Thompson. She graduated from Prospect Park High School in Philadelphia and Bates College in Lewiston, ME in 1948. On November 26, 1949, she married Howard Collins in Philadelphia. She was a long time resident of Littleton, NH moving to Falmouth in 1999.
Mrs. Collins was employed as a business manager of the North Country Home Health Agency and was an active member of the First Congregational Church. She enjoyed playing piano and singing in the choir. She was also an avid bridge player.
Surviving family members include a son, John Collins of Charlestown, NH; two daughters, Anne Mayer of Portland, OR; Susan Lloyd-Rees of South Portland, ME; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Collins, in 1980 and by her husband, Howard Collins, in 1999.
SERVICES A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Ed Lopeman officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Wheeler Hill Cemetery in Littleton.
