It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Clark Frost, who passed away on April 5th, 2023, at Villa Crest in Manchester, NH. She was 89 years old.
Joan, who was known by friends and the community as Jodi, was born on May 16, 1933, in Amherst, NH, to the late Malcolm and Pauline (Merrifield) Clark. She was raised in Amherst and attended Clark Middle School before graduating high school from Cushing Academy. She went on to earn an associate's Degree from Westbrook College. She was married to her late husband, Robert J. Frost, in 1957.
Jodi was an active member of her community and belonged to several organizations, including the Candia Women's Club, Candia Congregational Church, Candia Historical Society, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed square dancing, watching the Boston Red Sox, camping, and socializing with her friends and family. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time with family and friends at the beach. During her childhood years through her late 40s, the beach destination was her family's home at Drake’s Island, Maine. In her later years, Jodi enjoyed socializing with her friends at Rye Beach. Her favorite day would include a swim in the ocean, a walk on the beach, and a cookout with her family and friends.
After her husband Bob retired, they enjoyed spending their winters in Sarasota, Florida, and enjoyed many hours socializing at the pool, riding bikes, and going out to dinner with their many friends. While they were in Florida, Jodi especially enjoyed spending time with her cousins Scott and Chuck.
Since childhood, Jodi has had a love of baseball. She watched the Red Sox for decades, and then her love of baseball grew even more when she was able to watch her grandson, Arjay play.
Jodi is survived by her son, Stephen Frost and his domestic partner Marie Daniello; her daughter, Sandra Frost Sidney, son-in-law, Grant Sidney, and grandson, Arjay Frost Sidney; and her cousin, Scott Nutter.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the friends and staff at Villa Crest for their kindness and care for more than three years, and especially during the Covid pandemic.
Jodi will be laid to rest at Holbrook Cemetery, located at the intersection of Main Street and Old Candia Road in Candia, on Saturday, April 22nd at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Cello’s Italian Farmhouse, 143 Raymond Road, Candia.
