JOAN COONEY HASTINGS

LITTLETON, NH  Joan Cooney Hastings, 68, passed away at the Lafayette Center in Franconia on November 12, 2004 after a long illness.

Joan was born a daughter to John and Winifred (Maye) Cooney on November 14, 1935, in Boston, MA. She attended Notre Dame Academy and graduated from Roslindale High School.

Joan married and had four children. She resided in the Littleton area for many years, and was a resident of the Lane House for the past five years.

Surviving family members include one son, Kevin Hastings of Littleton; three daughters, Deborah Petit of Littleton, Suzanne Wetherbee of Littleton, Karen Wilkins of Sutton, VT; and 18 grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Anne Cooney of Dedham, MA; one nephew, three nieces and their families. One brother, John Cooney, predeceased her.

SERVICES  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 15th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union Street, Littleton, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 16th at 10 :00 a.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Fleming as Celebrant. Graveside Committal Rites will be held at the St. Josephs Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA on Friday, November 19th at 1:00 p.m.

The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701, or Hospice of the Littleton Area, 600 St. Johnsbury Road, Littleton, NH 03561.
