Joan Marie Hill

Joan M. Hill, 54, of Hinsdale, NH passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH from complications associated with MS. She was born on July 28, 1959 in Brattleboro, VT; the daughter of Irma S. (Stockwell) Robertson and Stanley A. Robertson.

Joan was raised and educated in Hinsdale, NH, graduating from Hinsdale High School class of 1977. She was a dedicated employee of the Holstein Association for 26 years, until she was no longer able to work. On March 14, 1987 she married her soul mate Michael E. Hill who passed away in July 2009. Joan then moved to Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland, NH.

Joan was a loving mother and loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sitting in the sun on a beautiful day, and listening to country music. In earlier years she was a hobbyist, loved to cook, sew, craft interior designs, and collected stamps. She was also a member of the bowling league in Brattleboro, VT.

She is survived by her parents, Irma S. and Stanley A. Robertson of Hinsdale, NH; three children, Marie D. Hill of Jeffersonville, VT, Sarah L. Hill, Brattleboro and Allen E. Hill of Hinsdale; two sisters, Rose Haynes and spouse, George, of Brattleboro and Kimberly Simeon and spouse, Andrew, of Hinsdale; three grandchildren, Porter, Luna and Gabriel; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:00 am at Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery, Orchard St., Brattleboro, VT. A gathering will follow at the ELKS Club, 75 Putney Rd., Brattleboro, VT, all are welcome to attend. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St. Brattleboro, VT has been entrusted with arrangements.
