JOAN SIDERIS MANCHESTER - Joan Sideris, 95, died April 11, 2006, in Pearl Manor Nursing Home of Hillcrest after several years of illness and failing health. She was born in Manchester, on August 30 1910 to James and Anastasia (Mallis) Sideris, and was a former resident of 39 Breton Avenue. Miss Sideris graduated from Central High School in 1928 and later continued her education graduating from the Executive Secretary Course at Hesser Business School. She was employed by Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company and retired from there. In addition, she worked for her father evenings and weekends in his convenience store, first on Bridge Street and later on the corner of Lincoln and Laurel Streets. She was a life member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Hanover Street and a member of the Ladies Anagenesis Society. IN HER LIFE: Her family includes a nephew, Dr. Chris T. Armen, of Lebanon, NH; a niece, Diana Cowles, of Lincoln, MA; several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins, George Sideris of Manchester and John Sideris of Concord. She was predeceased by three sisters, Genevieve Sideris Pesseos of Kalamazoo, MI, Olga Sideris Armen of Hampton and formerly West Lebanon, NH; and Viola Sideris of Manchester, NH. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Monday, April 17, from 10 11 A.M. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Funeral Service will follow, 11 A.M. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hanover Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104, in memory of Miss Sideris. Arrangements are under the direction of Phaneuf Funeral Home, Manchester.
